The story follows Desmond Miles, a modern-day bartender who is kidnapped by a company called Abstergo Industries. Using a machine called the Animus, they force Desmond to relive the memories of his ancestor Altaïr Ibn-La’Ahad, an Assassin during the time of the Third Crusade (1191).
