In Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception, you play as a fighter pilot known by the callsign “Falcon”, part of Aurelia’s elite air force. The story is set in 2019 on the fictional continent of Aurelia, which comes under sudden attack from its powerful northern neighbor, Leasath.

Leasath’s military—armed with advanced weaponry and led by the mysterious General Diego Gaspar Navarro—launches a blitzkrieg campaign, quickly overtaking most of Aurelia. With few forces remaining, you and your squadron, Gryphus Squadron, become the last line of defense. As Gryphus 1, your mission is to push back against the occupation and uncover the truth behind Leasath’s aggression.

As you complete missions across different terrains—air, land, and sea—you slowly reclaim Aurelia territory, while unraveling a conspiracy tied to war profiteering and manipulation by General Navarro. The campaign mixes high-stakes dogfights with strategic objectives, ultimately leading to a final showdown over Leasath’s capital.

The game also features branching mission paths, allowing your decisions to impact the course of the war and which missions you fly.
