In Fallout 3 for the PS3, players enter a hauntingly post-apocalyptic world set in the year 2277, two centuries after a nuclear war has devastated Earth. You take on the role of a Vault Dweller from Vault 101, a self-sustained underground shelter built to protect humanity from the radioactive wasteland. When your father mysteriously leaves the Vault, you’re forced to escape into the dangerous Capital Wasteland, a desolate area surrounding what remains of Washington, D.C.

As you venture through this ruined world, you encounter hostile mutants, desperate survivors, and powerful factions with conflicting motives. Guided by the choices you make, you shape the outcome of quests and alter the fate of the wasteland’s inhabitants. Your actions affect your Karma, influencing how others perceive you and ultimately determining the game’s multiple possible endings.
